BSU Council
General Council

Creative Ministries
Coordinator: Jennifer Rice

Cumberland Creative Ministries Team (CCMT) strives to share the love of Jesus Christ with the world through new and creative ways. Our goal is to bring others to Christ. The secondary goal of CCMT is to have fun while completing the first goal.

The W's "The Devil is Bad" at Convention

CCMT consists of several different avenues of ministry. It includes drama, puppets, musical interpretation, and mime. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 8:00 PM- 10:00 PM at the Angel-Dale House. The team does a variety of performances ranging from on campus events to weekend revival teams.  For information regarding scheduling, visit the BSU Services page.

Men's Dorm Ministries
Coordinator: T.J. Wright

The Men's Dorm Ministry is an inreach to the men's dorms on campus.   Whether it be in Bible study, prayer meetings, or simply fellowship, it is the intention of the ministry to bring the men of the campus together under God.  The meetings may take place in the individual dorms, in any dorm for anyone, or whatever format is needed at the time.  All meetings are open to anyone who wishes to come.   The Men's Dorm Ministry works in the same way as the Women's Dorm Ministry.

Missions Projects
Coordinator: Jamey Short

During each of the three major breaks in the year (summer, winter, and spring break), a team or multiple teams go out with but one goal in mind: to spread the Word in a loving manner as Jesus commanded.   The summer missions vary from Son teams to individual placement through the nation and even to placement in a variety of countries.  The spring break trip has traditionally been a "beach-reach," that is, a missions project directed at the many students from all over on spring break at the beaches.

These trips would not be possible however without advanced planning and effort.  The Missions Projects ministry works to insure that all is ready at Cumberland when the time comes to head out into the mission field.

Multicultural Ministries
Coordinator: Amy Larkin

The Multicultural Ministries strives to bring together the diverse people here at Cumberland.  Through fellowship, the ministry attempts to bridge the gap between the variety of cultures both internationally and within the United States.   It is the hope of the ministry that those who participate will gin insight into the lives and cultures of other peoples.  The insight will help each of us understand ourselves and each other better, and being one under God as a united people will become more of a reality.

Public Relations
Coordinator: Cristy Hall

Public Relations is designed to work as a partnership with Publicity. While much of its focus lies in promoting BSU events, its main objective is to advertise the name of Christ on campus.

One major component of Public Relations is the Journal of Light, a monthly newsletter, complete with dates and times of BSU activities, as well as coverage of these events as they occur and articles written to encourage readers. By shining a positive light, it is our desire to reach out and encourage others to join us as a family of believers, working together for the cause of Christ.

All students and faculty are encouraged to submit articles as God leads you to do so. Also, any events or dates, relating to BSU are welcomed, but we ask that they submitted by the first of each month in order not to delay publication deadlines.

SideWalk Chalk
Coordinator: Brittany Rezek

"How great is the Father’s love that we should be called the children of God…this is what we are." Just as each child has a different way of expressing love for a parent, each Christian has a different way of expressing love for our heavenly daddy. The Sidewalk Chalk Players (SWC) is a group of Cumberland students dedicated to expressing and worshiping Christ through drama.

SWC is an audition group of eight members. They travel the state of KY and surrounding areas sharing the gospel through short sketches and one-acts. If you have any questions about scheduling for an event or service, visit the BSU Services page.  If you have any questions about the team or about anything else, please contact Brittany Rezek at brezek@cc.cumber.edu (Box 7082).

Sound
Coordinator: Sonny Lethcoe

Spring 2000 Campus Revival

BSU Sound is a unique ministry in that the services provided attract little to no attention; it is simply a service provided for all the BSU ministries as needed (such as Celebration, coffeehouses, Reflections, and Sacred Vision) and offered to campus groups, organizations, and events (depending on availability).  The sound crew takes care of setup and tear down of sound equipment as well as running the sound for the particular event.  The sound crew all provides for the care and maintanence of the equipment.  For information on requesting/reserving the BSU sound equipment, visit the BSU Services page.  Equipment available can cover needs ranging from a simple PA system up to a larger concert setup (to see a general list of the equipment, click here).
